About MOWdelco

OUR MISSION, OUR STORY
The mission of Meals on Wheels of Delaware County, Inc. is to improve the health and quality of life for homebound seniors and the disabled by engaging caring volunteers to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to their homes for a minimal cost.
Today in America there are over 5,000 independently-run local Meals On Wheels programs who are serving the needs of seniors and the disabled. Through committed volunteers, daily meals are prepared and delivered to clients giving seniors the choice to remain in their homes and families the assurance of their loved one well-cared for.

Meals On Wheels of Delaware County, Inc. (MOWdelco) was originally founded in 1971 by a church group from Haverford Township who were interested in serving the hungry in their community. From this group, the non-profit corporation was officially established in 1974 with five service units created in Haverford, Media/Wallingford, Marple-Newtown, Aston/Brookhaven, and Ridley Township. MOWdelco has been serving their clients for over forty years.
